The PacificFilm Victoria is proud to announce that the HBO television mini-series The Pacific is based and filming in Melbourne, Australia.

The epic ten-hour mini-series is executive produced by Tom Hanks, Steven Spielberg and Gary Goetzman, the creative team behind the Emmy® -winning 2001 HBO mini-series Band of Brothers.

The production is based at Melbourne Central City Studios in Melbourne, Australia, with the majority filming also taking place in Melbourne, where U.S. troops camped in 1943.
